From Indian ink pens and tracing paper applied to drafting machines to today's CAD stations, the Studio FEM team has always kept up to date to provide clients with state-of-the-art projects and timely on-site technical support. The high quality of the technological tools used allows us to maintain a craftsmanship approach to each assignment, like a 'tailor-made' suit, in accordance with the project objectives.
The Studio FEM team employs digital information system (BIM)-assisted design and structural calculation methods using spatial modelling (FEM) in the civil and industrial fields. These procedures allow the optimisation of results in terms of functionality, cost and construction time. The proposed design solutions are generally presented to clients with three-dimensional simulations (RENDERING) that allow for an easy understanding of the results obtained.
When surveying buildings and mapping sites of industrial interest, the use of DRONES enables effective performance results. The use of remotely piloted aircraft systems (APR) allows, for example, the survey of structural instabilities and the control for maintenance purposes of structures that are difficult to reach by standard means (bell towers, towers, chimneys, pylons, roofs of civil and industrial buildings). These systems are also currently used by FEM Studio technicians for aerophotogrammetric mapping.
Our working methodology involves a direct and personal commitment from single consultancy, to the design of a complex, to the construction site without delegating the task to support staff. This approach, which forces us to limit the number of assignments per single time window, allows us to maintain total control over the entire technical-engineering process. For more than twenty-five years, we have been dedicated to the functional design of civil works with related on-site supervision, as well as consultancy in the industrial/railway field, in compliance with the most up-to-date quality standards.
